Tiles are flooring covering that are durable with low maintenance. They enhance the beauty of a house or apartment. When tiles are fixed over a long period of time, they tend to fall off the wall or break when something hard strikes it.
Here are some techniques to replace them when damaged or broken;
1) Reusing broken tiles before you dispose the pieces of tile from a repair job, consider a few designs they can be used for decorative artwork in your home. Artwork patterns can enhance flower pots, picture frames etc and can be used as part of a wonderful and unique flooring design.
2) Replacing it with a new tile. You will want to replace broken or cracked tiles to maintain the appearance of a room and to have a uniform and same pattern of design in the house.
STEPS
a) Use a chisel or grout raker to remove the grout from around the edge of a broken tile.
b) Use a club hammer and chisel to remove sections of the broken tile. The use of gloves and protective goggles is needed in this step, then apply the adhesive to the back of the tile using an adhesive spreader.
c) Position the tile checking that it sits well, use spacers or a tin wood to maintain grout gaps.
d) Remove the spacers and grout when dry, then you have your room back to its beautiful looks.
